Because children and teaching is not a one size fits all, at Bailey Preschool we allow our teachers to design their own classroom curriculum and schedule. Our teachers are trained professionals who are knowledgeable about child development and base their classroom design on the needs of the children enrolled in the room. We believe that each child is an individual and it is our job to make sure that your child is always appropriately challenged by meeting each child where they are at developmentally.
To help ensure that your child is learning and growing, and developing on a track, each child will be assessed using an approved assessment tool called Ages and Stages. Ages and Stages is a tool that both you and your child’s teacher will use together to monitor your child’s development.
Knowing that your child’s development is important to you, we will hold parent-teacher conferences twice a year. These parent teacher conferences will be scheduled two times that work for both you and the teacher.
Our Center has 5 Programs Available:
Infant and Toddler Program – Birth to 36 months
Our building has three classrooms organized to help infants and toddlers develop successfully. The infant and toddler rooms are broken up into age groupings which allow children to be with others similar in age and development. Our full care program works on progressing the children social, academically and physically.
Full Care Program – 2½ to 5 years old
Bailey Preschool has 5 rooms dedicated to our full care program. The rooms are split up by age so the classrooms are able to set lessons for the day based on the developmental milestones for each age group. Our full care program works on progressing the children social, academically and physically. Preschool is included in the full care program
Preschool Program – 2½ to 5 years old
Our preschool program is a 2 hour program Monday thru Friday from 8:30 to 11:30 am. This program is available in all of our full care classrooms. Each classroom tailors their preschool program curriculum to the needs and development of the children enrolled in the classroom. Our Dark Blue and Orange Rooms look at the kindergarten requirements of East Lansing Public Schools to help guide their curriculum and class goals.
School Age Program – 5½ to 12 years old
We offer before school, after school and holiday care to children who are enrolled in public schools. Spots and spaces are limited so if you are interested in these options please contacts us as soon as possible.
Each summer if space is available we will open up the orange and dark blue rooms to accept school kids for our summer program. The summer program includes water days, field trips, and many hands on activities to enhance the learning of the children.
